June Challenge: 100 Miles in 30 Days

When I graduated with my MBA this time last year, I told myself that I was going to get back to one simple thing that helps make me feel whole–running. Well, a year has passed and I haven’t run more than a few days in each week…and there have been lots of weeks when I didn’t run at all. We can all relate to the excuses of work, life, weather, etc., but the fact is, if you really want it, just do it.

Since I’m admitting it’s been a bit of a struggle to get back into my groove post-grad school, I decided I needed a challenge. I’m a pretty competitive person by nature and what better way to get motivated than create a challenge for myself. That’s when I decided that I am going to run, hike, bike, or elliptical my way to 100 miles this month. That’s roughly 4.5 miles each weekday, which still allows me to spend time on the weekend relaxing with Brian and our fur babies, golfing, gardening, paddling, or exploring.

I’m all about challenges to jump start good habits but they have to be practical, too, otherwise they stand no chance of becoming a long-term habit.

I’m looking forward to mixing it up with various activities and reaching that 100 mile mark by June 30th. Every week, I’ll be posting updates of my progress and hope you follow along. Who’s with me??!
